Pakistan Military Academy (PMA), Kakul, is the premier training institution of the Pakistan Army, responsible for training and commissioning future officers. The 159 PMA Long Course offers a structured pathway for intermediate and graduate candidates, as well as serving Army, Navy, and Air Force personnel, to join the Army as commissioned officers.

Required Marks – FA/FSc/Equivalent

  • Minimum 60% marks required in FA/FSc and equivalent.
  • Candidates who secure 60% marks or above in BA/BSc/BA/BSc (Hons) and BBA/BPA, with 50% marks in FA/FSc, are also eligible for PMA Long Course.

Relaxation of Marks – Specified Areas

Candidates with domicile of specified areas are eligible with 55% marks in FA/FSc. Specified areas include Balochistan, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, District Neelum (Azad Jammu Kashmir), District Kohistan, Chitral, Dir, Tehsil Balakot (Kaghan, Naran) of District Mansehra in KPK, Tharparkar and Tehsil Umerkot in Sindh, District Rajanpur, areas of Cholistan Desert, Drawar Fort, Salamsar, Mojgarh and Dingarh of Punjab. Candidates must be domicile holders and must have actually been studying in the same areas to avail this relaxation.

Serving Army Soldiers: Eligible with 50% marks or above in FA/FSc and equivalent.

Verification & A-Level Requirements

  • Candidates not issued certificates, or holding duplicate/revised mark sheets/certificates of Matric/Intermediate/BA/BSc, must obtain a verification certificate signed by the Secretary/Controller of Examinations of the concerned Board/University.
  • 'A' Level candidates (with equivalence issued by IBCC) with an aggregate of 60% marks are eligible.
  • Candidates who passed 'A' Level or equivalent examination from abroad, or from Pakistan with a result of less than three C's, must submit an equivalence certificate issued by the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC).

Documents Required

Candidates must deposit the following documents with the Army Selection and Recruitment Centres (AS&RCs):

  • Original certificate/detailed mark sheet of Matric/FA/FSc/Equivalent.
  • Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) for candidates 18 years and above, or computerized Form "B" along with the Guardian's CNIC (Father or Mother) for candidates under 18 years of age.
  • One set of attested photocopies of the above-mentioned documents.
  • 3 x passport-size colored photos, duly attested (front and back) by Principal/Class-1 Gazetted Officer.
  • Original as well as one photocopy of the "Not Recommended" letter by the Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) for "Repeater Candidates."

Note: Old National Identity Card and Form 'B' will not be accepted. AS&RCs are required to check the eligibility of candidates and ensure completeness of the form along with supporting documents.
